Gym guidlines

In order to maintain a smooth functioning martial arts gym, we’ve put in place a few guidelines to ensure everyone has a pleasurable experience. Generally, these principles highlight the importance of gym health and gym protocol.

To maintain a friendly and clean training space, it’s important that we’re all on the same page regarding this because each student effects everyone else.

GYM HEALTH
  • Gi and No-Gi uniforms must be washed after each use and be free of odor.
  • Please keep finger nails and toe nails clipped and clean at all times to avoid scratching training partners. Before all kids classes, we check their finger nails and feet before they step on the mats.
  • Feet and hands must be free of dirt and grease.
  • Please wear shoes or flip flops when going to the restroom.
  • Please don’t wear shoes or flip flops on the BJJ mats.
  • For the safety, well-being, and health of the entire gym, if you’re sick—i.e., feeling symptoms of Covid 19, feverish, coughing, sore throat, rashes, skin infections—we require you to stay home until you feel better. During that time, please contact the instructor with updates on your progress. When the condition is resolved, we warmly welcome you back to training.
Mats sterilized after each use.
GYM PROTOCOL
  • We bow in and bow out of class. Also, we bow to our training partner to show respect.
  • Please ensure you have all of your belongings when you leave, as United Legion BJJ won’t be responsible for lost items.
  • Please don’t throw, drop, or slam free-weightsespecially near windows.
  • Please don’t bring any free-weights or metal equipment onto the Jiu-Jitsu mats.
  • As you gain experience, please help others who are just starting Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training.
  • Remember to shake hands before and after a round of training. At the end of the day, we’re all on the same team.
